Gulls injury crisis continues in loss

When it rains, it pours.
Warragul's injury crisis went from bad to worse over the weekend, with star ruckman Sam Whibley suffering a broken leg during their defeat to Morwell.
Half the Gulls team must have walked under a few ladders in the preseason. Or broken a few mirrors.
The injury came late in the game, when an attempted smother saw a teammate land on the big man's leg, leaving him lying on the ground in visible pain for several minutes before being stretchered off.
The loss of Whibley - who leads the league in hitouts - only compounded the Gulls' 5.7 (37) to 12.11 (83) defeat, where they were jumped early by the Tigers and failed to recover.
