Finals come early in reserves

Ladder leader Longwarry and fourth-placed Ellinbank played out a finals like contest in the reserves.


Entering the final change leading by eight-points, the Crows just held on 6-4 (40) to 6-1 (37) as the Eagles challenged with the final goal.
Justin Mitchell, Samuel Davies, Jackson Bersey, Ethan Gunstone, Bailey Rowe and Zach Murphy helped the Crows hold on.
Mathew Dare, Andrew Quirk, Keaton Brown, Sam Barwick, Thomas Bingham and Blake Notman ensured the Eagles would challenge to the end.
CATANI held onto sixth place with a hard-fought victory over Bunyip, 7-7 (49) to 5-4 (34).
With scores level at the final change, the Blues scored the final two goals of the contest.
Cayden Kibblewhite, Caleb Allport, Mitchell Smith, Kalel Anand, Brandon Rose and Gerard Giacco helped Catani to victory.
Leading the challenge for the Bulldogs were Josh Collins, Ryan Orridge, Brandon Pompei, Curtis Jenkin, Sam Dowie and Daniel Wright.
OTHER matches were one-sided affairs with 13 goals from Xavier Cox helping Neerim-Neerim South thump Poowong, 33-17 (215) to 0-0 (0).
Adam White, Lachlan Ramage, Toby Bayne, Jackson Clerks and Kyle Salerno were also prominent for the Cats.
YARRAGON comfortably accounted for Nilma-Darnum, 11-8 (74) to 3-4 (22).
A six goal second quarter set up the result for the Panthers in a contest where players had to contend with a difficult wind.
Zak Keeble, Nate White, Ty Miller, Chris Brook, Matthew Clynes and Ryan Young led the way for Yarragon.
Lochie Shaw kicked two good goals for Nilma-Darnum with Benjamin Egan, Boeden Fries, Tobey May, Riley Feil and Rob Campbell also prominent.
TRAFALGAR comfortably accounted for Nyora to further shore up its position in the top five.
The Bloods scored consistently across the four quarters to win 19-11 (125) to 2-3 (15).
Darcy Brock, Angus Templeton, Keegan Tullett, Hayden Brock and Zack Brown helped Trafalgar kick away.
The Saints were best served by Luke Forscutt, Tylor Dalgleish, Lincoln Brock, Jye Shaw-Remy, Brayden Smith and Ollie Hill.
LANG LANG tightened the percentage gap to the ladder leading Longwarry with a big win over Buln Buln, 19-15 (129) to 1-2 (8).
Brodie Kiss booted seven goals in a best afield effort with Rhyce Harvie, Ben Barwick, Jesse Hand and Geordie Wells also prominent.
The better players for the Lyrebirds were Matt Jones, Aaron Warner, Bryce Monahan, Lachlan Budd, Jacob Pickthall and Jaran Guy.
