Ellinbank scored a thumping win over Nilma-Darnum, but not before an early challenge from the Bombers.
A mammoth return of 27 goals to four after quarter time quickly ended a bright start from the Bombers in a big 34-18 (222) to 7-6 (48) result.
Ellinbank's forward pressure proved difficult for Nilma-Darnum to deal with, the visitors putting through the first three majors.
The Bombers worked into the contest to trade goals, with a nice finish from the outside of the contest before a long goal from Sage Tapner reduced the margin to 18-points at the first change.
Ellinbank began the second with a running goal to Logan Joyce, but the Bombers continued to hang around as Tapner combined with Ben Campbell for another.
Consecutive goals to Ellinbank increased the buffer before a goal from the boundary soon became one of few remaining highlights for the home side.
The Eagles kicked the final four goals of the second term to take their tally to 14, the momentum continuing in the second half with a further 20 goals.
Logan Joyce, Samuel Pratt, Jordan Kingi, Bryce Joyce, Timothee Mashado and Cambell Jolly led the charge for Ellinbank.
Lachlan Pratt finished with eight goals and while other scoring was shared, under 18 player Hugh Cunningham is one to watch for the future with a return of four majors.
Nilma-Darnum were best served by Tapner, Thomas Young, Nick Carrigy, Liam Harman-Dorney, Oxley Huson and Nathan Campbell.
