Dusties defence reigns supreme

Warragul Industrials' division one team continued their winning ways on Saturday morning courtesy of a comprehensive victory over Bonbeach.
The Dusties were tireless in defence, holding their opposition scoreless to come out on top 7.9 (51) to 0.0 (0).
It was an early departure for the club to arrive at Bonbeach by 8:30am for a 10am start.
Bonbeach were elevated after winning the 2024 division two premiership. Although lower than Dusties on the ladder, the Bonbeach team has become known for their physicality and welcomed back a very experienced VFLW defender into their line-up.
The game began as expected with many very hard physical contests and before play started to open up several minutes into the quarter.
The strong defensive structures were proving frustrating for the Dusties midfielders and forwards, but they were able to score quickly twice through switching the play and going around the extra numbers. The second quarter was similar to the first but after that point the Dusties were more effective in their ball movement and were able to start piercing the defensive structures of Bonbeach.
Most of the play in the game was in their front half but it was the Dusties defense that were dominating any attempt by Bonbeach to work the ball up the groups. Monai Porykali, Lily Van Berkel and Brooke Hunter were all soundly beating their opponents.
Warragul Industrials are fortunate to boast a very strong midfield group who again work tirelessly to win the battle against their opponents.
The midfield contests were very physical and the Dusties girls did not take a backward step.
The visitors' forwards battled hard all day and, in the end, got on top of their Bonbeach opponents.
Best on for Warragul Industrials were Elise Molesworth, Monai Porykali, Alisha Molesworth, Brooke Hunter and Kelly O'Neill.
Later that day Warragul Industrials' division two team were soundly beaten away from home by Edithvale-Aspendale 0.2 (2) to 10.10 (70).
This Saturday the Dusties division one team travel to Mornington for another top of the table clash. At this stage it looks like the Dusties will be fielding a strong team and are looking to give Mornington their first defeat for the season. The game begins at 1pm.
The division two side will play Tyabb away from home at 4:40pm the same day
