Dusties, Bulldogs search for first win in WGFNC

Round three of the West Gippsland Football Netball Competition sees local teams Bunyip and Warragul Industrials meet as they both search for their first win.
Meanwhile, a grand final rematch will see two rivals meet for the first time since last year's big game.
Bunyip vs Warragul Industrials
Two of the league's winless sides will get a chance to get on the board as Bunyip hosts Warragul Industrials.
In saying that, the two sides are winless in different ways.
Bunyip have fallen to Korumburra-Bena and Garfield, the bottom two sides from last season, while Industrials have succumbed in two close contests to Phillip Island and Tooradin-Dalmore, last year's grand finalists.
The Bulldogs are still finding their footing this year, having lost a sizeable number of senior players in the off-season.
They've shown patches of solid footy, but haven't been quite able to put it all together, which isn't a surprise given their relative inexperience.
Meanwhile, it's been the toughest possible start for the Dusties, having to play two of the competition's most elite sides.
They made a solid showing in both games, particularly when they pushed the reigning premiers right to the line.
But now it's time to get some results on the board. They'll be entering this game as favourites, and will be keen to get a result on the board.
For Bunyip this will be a chance to test themselves against a bona fide top six calibre team, and they'll certainly be wanting to cause an upset.
Nar Nar Goon vs Garfield
Fresh off their first win of the year, Garfield travels to Nar Nar Goon to challenge themselves against one of the best.
The Stars have already shown signs they are a very different team to the one that finished 11th last season.
Playing as underdogs, they pushed Cora Lynn for most of the day before succumbing late, while they got the chance to flex their muscles in a big win over local rivals Bunyip last week.
Forward Jack Tenace-Greenall is playing some irresistible footy, as is Angus Emery.
They'll have to back it up again this week though against Nar Nar Goon.
They don't want for much out at the Goon. A lethal forward line, a big-bodied midfield and a solid defence makes them a fairly complete team.
The team lowered their colours to Inverloch-Kongwak in round one, but this only spurred them towards a gargantuan win over Koo wee rup last week.
Nar Nar Goon, particularly at home, are going to be tough to beat, but this game will be a good measuring stick for the Stars.
They've already shown significant progress, now we get to see how far they have to go.
Cora Lynn vs Koo wee rup
The Cobras will be out to keep the good times rolling as they welcome Koo wee rup.
Following a tough loss in the season opener, Cora Lynn have shown their fortitude with two straight wins.
A big win against Korumburra-Bena would have allowed them to flex their muscles a bit and cut loose, particularly with the potent forward line they boast.
For Koo wee rup their two games have been the feast and the famine.
The Demons were dominant against Dalyston, looking every bit the improved team they were hoping to become.
That was until last week, where they were embarrassed at home by Nar Nar Goon. The Demons were made to look second-rate in that game, and a response is needed here.
They'll have to do it without star forward Jason Wells, however, leaving a lot of pressure on the likes of recruit Adam Amin.
Expect some feeling in this one.
Other games
A grand final rematch highlights the remaining games, as Tooradin-Dalmore hosts Phillip Island.
The Seagulls claimed an elusive premiership last time these two met in the final game of 2022.
No doubt the Bulldogs will want some redemption, not just for the grand final but for their performance last week, where they were thoroughly outgunned by Inverloch-Kongwak.
Even more shocking was the loss came at their home fortress, which has become something of an abattoir for opposition sides in recent years.
Tooradin-Dalmore have kept on rolling though, and will be keen to fire another warning shot to the rest of the competition.
Fresh off their best win in a while, Inverloch-Kongwak play host to Kilcunda Bass.
The Sea Eagles looked every bit a premiership contender last week and a big win here is certainly on the cards.
Kilcunda Bass appeared listless at times in last week's loss to Dalyston.
Should they fail to respond here they might be in for a world of pain.
Dalyston and Korumburra-Bena will both be shooting for their second victory of the year when they face off.
Two of the league's strugglers last year, both teams have enjoyed a solid win as well as a shockingly bad defeat.
Dalyston's win came last week which will have them full of confidence here, and at home they should come in as slight favourites.
