The Drouin Netball Club has continued to fly the flag in season 2025, with several sides in contention for finals as things stand.
The Hawks' A and B grade teams as well as their 17 and under and 15 and under sides are all sitting inside the top five, while their C grade team sits just outside it.
Consistency has been key for Drouin's teams in recent years, having been perennial finals contenders for some time now.
While the A grade side has lost two of its regular players in Ava Gaul and Ebony Mumford, others have stepped up in their absence.
The elevation of Reagan Joyce from B grade to A has paid dividends, while recruit Christie Edwards has slotted into the team nicely.
After dropping their first two matches of the season the Hawks have bounced back with three straight wins to get their year back on track and make their way into the top five. Upcoming winnable games against Leongatha and Maffra will soon be followed by a battle with local rival Warragul, who have gone unbeaten to this stage.
With reigning league best and fairest April Bethune also up their sleeves, Drouin will be one to watch on the run home.
A number of the Hawks players have also been featuring regularly for the Gippsland Stars in the Victorian Netball League.
Stacie Gardiner (Championship), Lucy McKellar (23 and under), Charlize Traumanis (23 and under), Lainey Downie (19 and under) and Reagan Joyce (19 and under) have all featured in the Stars' squad as they take on some of the best players the state has to offer.
With the Gippsland Stars only entering a team into the Championship division for the first time this year after their inaugural season in 2024, the Hawks are sure to play a big role in the club's program for years to come.
