Ellinbank have fallen outside the Ellinbank District football top five after going down to Longwarry, 11-11 (77) to 4-5 (29).
Despite missing Riley Rundell, left out as a precaution with knee soreness, the Crows were able to control the contest from the outset as they looked to keep pace with leading sides Trafalgar and Neerim-Neerim South.
The result caps a difficult month for the Eagles, who dropped all four games against sides that feature in the top five.
A long goal on the run from Liam Smith Butterworth saw the Crows off to a perfect start.
Fintan Fox then launched from 50 metres to put one through the vacant goal square to increase the lead.
Darren Granger hit up Jason Wells on the short lead as Longwarry took a 19-point advantage into the first change.
Braydon McHugh provided Smith-Butterworth with his second before Jedd Serong snuck one through to make it five in a row for the Crows.
Michael Urie provided the breakthrough for the Eagles, only for the Crows to respond and take a handy 32-point lead into the long break. Ellinbank emerged with improved form as Timothee Mashado, Liam Anderson, coach Jake Harper, Ryan Atherton, the returning Brad Wolfe and Tim Farthing attempting to work the visitors back into the contest.
Ashley Debenham provided the important steadier before Lachlan Pratt scored from within range to close the margin to 20-points.
Jason Wells sailed one through the middle before a long finish saw the Crows creep the margin back out to 34-points at the final change.
Longwarry carried the form into the final quarter, as Jason Wells had his shot just clear the line.
Urie added his second goal but the Crows were still able to finish strong, despite Jedd Serong coming from the field after being squashed in a contest.
Wells took the resultant kick to put through his fourth as Harry Colvin, Lachlan Willis, Angus Adamiak, Bailey Werle, Smith-Butterworth and Brayden Chandler continued to push the Crows towards victory.
With Adamiak continuing to cut off Ellinbank exits from the defensive 50, he was able to find McHugh for his first to cap off another strong Crows performance.
