One-day matches will be the norm for division four in the Warragul District Cricket Association this season.
Clubs voted for a sole limited overs competition at the WDCA annual meeting last Wednesday.
The motion was put forward by the WDCA executive, after it had become clear clubs were struggling to field teams for division four two day matches.
Division four is typically a Second XI competition, and was reduced to only six teams last season.
By contrast, the all one-day format of division five had 11 teams, made up of some teams whose preference was to play limited overs, but who were also clearly too strong for the grade.
It is envisaged that by making division four all one-dayers, some of the stronger division five teams will be promoted to help prop up the next grade.
Division four clubs still wanting to play two-day cricket for the upcoming season can ask to be placed in division three.
Division one will remain as it was last season, after Western Park's Second XI won the division two premiership. Trafalgar, who finished last in division one and ordinarily would have been relegated, have been given a reprieve.
Two motions were put forward by Hallora and Garfield-Tynong cricket clubs.
Hallora's motion that the highest placed team in division one and division two be given the right to select the turf venue for the grand final was carried.
Previously, a rotation policy was used to give all turf venues the chance to host a grand final.
Garfield-Tynong's motion to play all grand finals over the Labour Day long weekend was narrowly defeated.
The Titans argued it was nonsensical to have a reserve day for the semi-final on the Monday public holiday, while the grand final reserve day carried over across two weekends and potentially into football season.
The meeting saw all previous executive office bearers re-elected unopposed.
Michael Neilsen will again lead as president, and have vice presidents Grant Duncan and David Armour as his right-hand men, along with Peter Flahavin and Jenny Vincent in the respective roles of secretary and treasurer.
