Eighteen goals from Jason Wells propelled Longwarry to a big win in Sunday's Marngrook game against Bunyip, the Crows prevailing 29-21 (195) to 6-5 (41).
Despite being relatively competitive in the first term, the Bulldogs still faced a 33-point deficit and then fell away.
The Crows added 10 goals to one in the second term as ill discipline crept in for the Bulldogs, with a player sent off for a dumping tackle off the ball that saw Liam Smith-Butterworth take no further part.
To make matters worse, another Bulldogs player found themselves sent off to begin the second half for an indiscretion late in the second term, the Crows building a mammoth 121-point lead at the final change.
The 18-goal return, matching an effort earlier in the season from Cats forward Mason McGarrity, saw Wells fittingly awarded the Marngrook medal for best player on the ground.
Lachlan Willis, Bailey Stephens, Riley Rundell, Angus Young and Darren Granger were also prominent for the Crows.
The Bulldogs were best served by William Grummisch, Ben Stewart, Ned Ashton, Mitchell Sproles, Samuel Hughes and Matthew O'Halloran.
YARRAGON remain in the hunt for the Ellinbank District top five, holding on for a thrilling four-point victory over Ellinbank.
The 12-7 (79) to 11-9 (75) result inflicted Ellinbank their fifth consecutive loss, with the Panthers now just percentage outside the top five.
Each side traded the ascendency in the first half, as Ellinbank headed for the rooms with a narrow two-point lead at the long break.
Three goals to one in the third term saw the Panthers take an 11-poing lead into the final change.
Braydon Preuss finished with four goals in another best afield effort, as the Panthers held on despite the Eagles winning the final term with four goals to three.
Brendan Hermann, Dan Clebney, Dean Kelly, Brett Coghill and Sam van der Zalm were also prominent for the visitors.
Lachlan Pratt kicked five goals for Ellinbank with Alex Olsen, Thomas Jessup, Ashley Scott, Anthony Battista and Liam Anderson also among the better players.
BULN BULN moved to fourth on the ladder with a big win over Nyora, 24-14 (158) to 5-4 (34).
The Saints held the Lyrebirds to three goals in a good first term effort, only for the home side to kick away.
Hayden Baker finished with six goals with Angus Mitchell, Jake Pierrehumbert, Will Battley, Bailey Leatham and Mitch Nobelius all prominent.
Nyora were best served by Jordan Anderson, Tyler Kirkbride, Lachie Fievez, Tane White, Lucas Lee and Dante Di Pietro.
TRAFALGAR closed the percentage gap to the ladder leaders with a thumping win over Poowong, 27-16 (178) to 3-5 (23).
The Magpies won the final term with three goals to one, but it resembled a training drill to that point as the Bloods steered through 26 majors to nil to three-quarter-time.
Matthew Swenson, Isaac Caroleo and Shane Brewster each finished with five goals, while Blake Slater put through four majors.
Kyle Beveridge, Danny Brewster, Mathew Devon, Jamie Hines and Brad Hoffman also were prominent.
Poowong's better players were Joseph Bisognin, David Miller, David O'Neill, Joel Norton, Mitch Molloy and Connor Ives.
