Cats aim to finish season unbeaten

by Davyd Reid
Buln Buln hosts ladder leader Neerim-Neerim South in a top four clash to headline the final home and away round of Ellinbank and District football.

The Lyrebirds will look to take it up to the undefeated Cats ahead of the finals series, their most likely challenger yet to emerge.
Only significant margins would see the make up of the top five change, a factor unlikely to occur given the forecast wintry conditions for Saturday.
Buln Buln will likely finish fourth and the Cats at the top of the table regardless of the result.
Sixth-placed Lang Lang will travel to take on seventh-placed Yarragon in an enticing clash between two sides locked on eight wins.
The victor will claim sixth, with a significant percentage gap to fifth-placed Ellinbank.
The Eagles take on the lower ranked Bunyip, and will be favoured to collect the points.
TRAFALGAR and Longwarry should keep their strong form going ahead of an anticipated qualifying final match-up.
They travel to take on Nilma Darnum and Nyora respectively.
CATANI and Poowong meet aiming to finish the season with a win.
THE reserves ladder should also remain as is with big percentage gaps also at play.
The top three are all locked on 15 wins, with about 50 percentage points separating the top two and a further 86 per cent back to third.
Fourth and fifth enter the round five games clear.
LADDER positions could change should there be some upsets in a tight under 18s competition where two wins separate second from fifth.
Should second-placed Longwarry fall to fifth-placed Poowong, it opens an opportunity for Buln Buln and Nilma-Darnum to climb above them.
THE under 16s ladder should also remain the same based on predicted results.
Should ladder leader Bunyip suffer an upset defeat at the hands of fourth-placed Ellinbank, it would open the door for Trafalgar to finish top.
