Catani has handed Longwarry its first defeat in an exciting A grade encounter on Saturday.
The Blues entered the round five clash as underdogs with just one win to their name. However, the rebuilding side signalled they are not to be underestimated, leading at every change before winning 52-48.
The goals were certainly flowing on a warm day, with Catani leading by one, four and five at each change.
The Crows were competitive throughout despite being without coach Akayla Peterson. They led by three goals during the third quarter after a run of six goals, but just couldn't capitalise.
Eight goals in a row to Catani either side of three-quarter time proved the difference.
Longwarry now slip to second on the ladder, with Catani also dropping to ninth.
Ellinbank and Trafalgar played out an entertaining game, with the Eagles jumping into the top five courtesy of a two-goal win.
Trafalgar came out hard to lead by four goals at quarter time. However, Ellinbank settled in the second and led by one at half-time. Little separated the teams in the second half, with Ellinbank leading by two at the last break.
A run of 10 goals to two had Trafalgar leading by three with nine minutes left to play. However, the Eagles got nine of the next 11 goals to secure the four points, 40-38.
There were few surprises when Neerim South claimed top of the ladder with a 51-29 win over Bunyip and third placed Nilma Darnum defeated Buln Buln 75-29.
However, fourth placed Poowong may have surprised a few with an impressive 55-32 win over Lang Lang, bumping them out of the top five.
The young and improving Magpies started strongly and had doubled the Tigers' score by half-time.
Nyora will take heart from an improved performance against Yarragon, drawing both the second and fourth quarters.
Leading by five at half-time, the Panthers put in a strong third quarter to open up a 13-goal lead, securing them the 49-36 win.
Round six games: Buln Buln v Longwarry, Lang Lang v Ellinbank (Thursday night), Yarragon v Neerim South, Poowong v Nilma Darnum, Catani v Trafalgar and Nyora v Bunyip.
