Football stories and memories of a great year at Thorpdale Football Netball Club were shared on Saturday when the club celebrated the 40th anniversary of its seniors and reserves premiership double.
The 1985 seniors and reserves coaches - Jim Forsyth and Sunny Lewis - attended club celebrations including a luncheon and reunion with players in the two premiership teams.
Both the seniors and reserves defeated Morwell East teams to win the Mid Gippsland league grand finals.
It has unfortunately been a long time between celebrations with the club not winning a seniors or reserves premiership since 1985.
In the home and away rounds on Saturday, the seniors again enjoyed success in defeating Morwell East while the reserves went down to a stronger team.
