The joy of kicking a goal was evident for Yarragon youngster Cameron Elkington as some sport resumed play on the weekend.

The under 10 player ran into an open goal to kick his first ever goal and give Yarragon the lead over Hallora early in the Warragul and District Junior Football League game.  He celebrated alongside teammates, including (right) Levi Hamilton who gave a goal assist.

Adding to the excitement, Cameron’s grandfather Peter Elkington was the goal umpire.

The eight-year-old from Yarragon is currently in his first season of football and has been working on kicking a goal all year.
