Mid Gippsland Junior Badminton Association played host to the Junior Classic at Warragul on Saturday, June 14.
The tournament is part of a Badminton Victoria initiative to encourage rural children to develop their playing skills.
These rural competitions hope to enable selection of a Victorian Country team to enter the Victorian Teams Championships in Melbourne at the end of the year.
Players travelled from Bendigo, Geelong and Latrobe Valley to play.
Players were divided into age groups and could play both singles and doubles if they wished. A total of about 40 players entered in the three age groups.
