Last week saw the undefeated teams in Ellinbank District senior football reduced to three.
This is set to be whittled down to two, with another big clash between undefeated sides Ellinbank and Neerim-Neerim South headlining round four.
Both sides enter the contest with similar form lines.
Following a competitive victory over reigning premier Buln Buln in the opening round, Ellinbank have boosted the percentage over lower ranked opponents in the rounds that followed.
Neerim-Neerim South opened the season with big wins, including accounting for the Lyrebirds by more than 100 points, before comfortably accounting for Trafalgar last week.
Winning the ball from the middle will be key for the Eagles to restrict opportunities to a potent Cats forward line.
Neerim-Neerim South may have the slight edge with a close contest anticipated.
BULN BULN and Trafalgar will look to keep their seasons on track when they meet.
With a chain of three clubs sitting below them also with two wins, the Bloods will look to bounce back and keep hold of fourth spot.
A Trafalgar victory and Ellinbank loss would see the Bloods finish the round in third, such is the tight nature of the ladder in the early going.
The Lyrebirds got their season going with victory over Bunyip last week and will hope for a competitive effort to show they are in the mix for the five.
Trafalgar's ambitions to climb the ladder should tip the result in their favour.
LANG LANG will look to climb into the top five for the first time this season when they host Catani.
The Tigers have been climbing since a narrow opening round loss to ladder leader Longwarry and will displace the Blues with victory.
Victories over lower ranked opponents had the Blues in the five early before missing an opportunity to solidify last week.
While Catani challenged, Yarragon ultimately prevailed despite finishing with just one player on the bench.
The Tigers will be aiming to climb in the five and ultimately stay there, with their ambitions holding them in good stead for this clash.
YARRAGON'S greatest challenge yet will come in the form of ladder leader Longwarry.
Player health could be a factor, depending on how well their players recover following last week's contest which saw just one fit player remaining on the bench.
Longwarry will be favoured, but it will provide another measuring stick for the Panthers.
OTHER matches offer the opportunity for sides to open their account.
Having been in somewhat of a slump in recent times, Nyora's best chance to snare a rare win comes in a home fixture.
The Saints host a Poowong side that has lost up to half a dozen players alongside one of the best players in the competition in Jack Hazendonk.
The Magpies have struggled in the opening rounds, giving the Saints every opportunity.
NEWCOMERS Bunyip will also look for their first victory in some time when they host Nilma-Darnum.
The Bombers fell away following a competitive first quarter last week and haven't been helped by other sides around them being on the improve.
Last year's form tips it in favour of the Bombers, but only just.

by Rob Popplestone A modern day David and Goliath clash looms in round four of Mid Gippsland football on Saturday. However, I fear the game between Foster and Hill End may have a very different outcome. Foster v Hill End As courageous as Hill End...
