The West Gippsland Concert Band took home first prize at the Yarram Eisteddfod recently.
Competing in their first ever eisteddfod as a group, the West Gippsland Concert Band performed three pieces in the Arthur Bunn Open Band/Ensemble category, "Bolero", "Blessing Wind" and "Critical Mass".
The band received a glowing review from the adjudicator, commending the "firm sense of pulse and most impressive performance" in "Bolero", the "introspective, sentimental qualities" captured in "Blessing Wind" and the "thrilling" crescendo in "Critical Mass".
