Warragul Municipal Band concert

Tickets for the Warragul Municipal Band 140th Anniversary Year Celebrations Concert are now on sale.
Held at the West Gippsland Arts Centre on Saturday November 15, the concert will end the anniversary year celebrations with a bang.
Audiences can sit back, relax and enjoy the landmark celebration with the Warragul Municipal Band and special guests, including a massed bands inaugural performance with the Warragul Municipal Junior Band.
Musical director Geoff Coote will lead the band during the concert and Australian banding legend Mark Ford will serve as master of ceremonies.
Talented local musicians will join the band on stage for special performances, including internationally acclaimed pianist and partner of the "Team of Pianists", Darryl Coote, and Nat Pollard.
Nat will perform "Warragul" a new piece for brass band composed for the special occasion.
In addition to the concert celebrations, an exhibition showcasing the history of Warragul and the Municipal Band will be on display in the Bruce Armstrong Band Room in October.
Titled "From The Beginning – A Walk Through Time", the exhibition will feature images of Warragul from the 1880s and a tribute display to Bruce Armstrong.
It also will acknowledge and pay respects to the band's ANZAC and 52nd Battalion connections. With over 150 trophies recently cleaned and catalogued, past uniforms and photos on display, and much, much more, this exhibition aims to celebrate the rich history of a band that has been an intrinsic part of Warragul since 1885.
The exhibition will be open on Monday and Tuesday nights between 6pm and 7pm throughout October until Tuesday November 11. It also will be open on Saturdays in October between 10:30am and 12:30pm until Saturday November 8.
The exhibition will be open on the day of the concert between 2:30pm and 6:30pm.
Entry to the exhibition is a gold coin donation.
