Students provide valued help at Tetoora Road
1 min read

A group of students from Warragul and District Specialist School's Landcare group recently attended Tetoora Road Community Centre to assist with maintenance of the grounds.
The group has assisted the committee a couple of times a year over the past four years, providing an essential resource to the ground's maintenance.
During the recent visit, the group assisted with the clean-up of two tennis courts behind the hall. The hedges around the courts were pruned with the clippings then collected and stacked with other branches which had fallen over the past six months around the grounds.
The visit was part of the school's program to introduce the students to vocational activities where they focus on important qualities such as punctuality, persistence and team work.
While local volunteers tend to the brush cutting of embankments about four to five times a year, weeding plants and re-plantings, the assistance provided by students is invaluable.
The Tetoora Road Community Centre committee is appreciative of supervisors Jess, Mark, Mike and the students who attended for the clean-up day.
After completing the task, the group enjoyed refreshments provided by the TCC committee including icy poles and water or juice boxes before enjoying some rest time and return to school in the afternoon.
