More than 25 local netballers have been scouted to trial for Netball Victoria Talent Academy and state programs.
The Talent Identification Program selected 10 netballers from Ellinbank and District Football Netball League (EDFNL), five netballers from Warragul District Netball Association and 11 netballers from Cora Lynn and Nar Nar Goon in West Gippsland Football and Netball Competition. Most were identified at the recent Gippsland Association Championships held in Bairnsdale.
The EDFNL representatives include Skye Black (Neerim South), Claire Finger, Sienna Ploeg and Miley Warde (Catani), Nicola Fort (Poowong), Ava Harvey and Charlotte Kemp (Yarragon), Jenna McDonald (Longwarry), Emily Melville and Chanel Pretorius (Lang Lang).
Warragul and District Netball Association representatives include Amber Hammond, Addison Moore, Amelia Henry, Piper Wilson and Sascha Wouters.
As well as playing with WDNA, Amber plays for Drouin and Addison, Amelia and Piper for Warragul in Gippsland League.
The Cora Lynn netballers scouted include Lillian Ede, Isabel McCarthy, Sienna McPherson and Lacey McCann, while Nar Nar Goon netballers include Chloe Langley, Gracie McQualter, Ruby Morrison, Kenzie Shave, Taya Smith, Chloe Kerr and Shae Lewis.
