Tips and tools to improve mental health will be offered to local residents via two "Let's Have a Chat" sessions.
Baw Baw Shire is partnering with local mental health agency Bettermentall to deliver the sessions at Yarragon Bowls Club on Monday, May 19 and Warragul Goods Shed on Wednesday, June 18.
Baw Baw Shire mayor Danny Goss said the sessions were for anyone working on their mental health or for those supporting a family member, friend, or colleague.
The free sessions will be run by local mental health advocates Jason and Kerry Rantall.
"Jason and Kerry are passionate advocates for mental health and wellness and generously share their personal stories of living with mental health and addictions," Cr Goss said.
Giving insights into his journey and offering helpful tips on how to face difficult times, Jason believes "small steps walked consistently create big change."
Kerry, who supported Jason through his journey, will talk about the impact of caring for a loved one going through tough times and share helpful advice for others in a similar situation.
"Everyone needs support to become the best version of themselves," Kerry said.
The free sessions are funded by the state government's Council Flood Support Fund.
The Yarragon session on Monday, May 19 will begin at 10am.
The second session at the Goods Shed in the Warragul Train Station carpark will begin at 6pm, with doors open from 5.30pm.
Each session is limited to 60 people and is adults only. To register, visit events.humanitix.com/let-s-have-a-chat-with-jason-and-kerry-rantall
