Drouin Speedway will provide great family entertainment again this Sunday from 11am with three invited classes on the program.
These include wingless sprints, hot rods as well as unlimited sedans who will join our local heroes in standard saloons all vying for victory and personal best results.
The wingless sprints compete in their Eastern Series with 23 entrants in one of the best months in which to race on Drouin Speedway each season.
The May race date is a popular event with the weather usually being kind on the surface without a blazing hot sun.
Thomas McDonald leads Wayne Logue - a recent victor at Rosedale Speedway - Ricky McCubbin, Traralgon's Ricky Mills, Nathan Orton, Scott Irons, Samantha Millar, Jake Warren - a winner in the Southwest recently - Jack Regan, Ben Hodge, Bairnsdale's Dillon Siely, Esther Thomson and the Morwell legend Peter Logue for this weekend's event.
It is a race up for grabs with a number of talented steerers a red-hot chance.
The Speedway Drivers Association of Victoria hot rods competed last weekend at Wahgunyah along the Murray River and are back on track this weekend with plenty of local Gippsland racers in the field.
Butch Borradale from Koo Wee Rup, Daniel Chesterfield of Drouin, and Andrew Kemp also from Drouin are amongst them.
Victorian champion Shannon Meakins is the standout competitor with the likes of Phil Jenkins, Kali Hovey and Brendan Roberts also in the line-up.
Unlimited sedans competition in their series racing is headlined by Corey McDonald who will travel down from Wodonga.
Local club members Daryl Nicolson, Bob Price, Brad Warren, and Stan Brown would like to secure a big win whilst Anthony McKean from the Rosedale club and Peter Farley coming from Bendigo are seeking victory of their own.
Standard saloon action should as always be door on door sheep stations on offer type racing.
Jeff Blencowe, Leigh Gooding, Brendan and Ella Sheedy, Cooper Joynson, Chris, Mark and Jay Miles and Bryce and Matt Leek are just some of the competitors in a field that we have become used to seeing on Sundays at Drouin.
A victorious racer is hard to pick, however Mark Miles was second at Rosedale in a big event recently.
Junior standard saloons are also programmed.
Gates open from 8:30am. Racing from 11am.
Entry will cost $25 for an adult, children 12 to 16 years is $15 and children under 12 years of age are free. A family ticket for two adults and two children aged 12 to 16 will cost $60.
Track is at 140 Main Jindivick Road, Jindivick.
General enquiries can be made to 0422 289 133.
