Car and rego plate thefts linked

A car theft in Warragul has been linked to a registration plate theft in Yarragon.
Police said a black 2011 Holden Commodore was recovered in Morwell with the stolen registration plates on it. Inside the vehicle was other stolen property.
The Holden Commodore, valued at $8000, was reported stolen from outside a residential property in Willandra Circuit between 8pm on Sunday, July 6 and 4.50am on Monday, July 7.
The registration plates were reported stolen from a vehicle parked in a Waterloo Rd carpark.
The theft is believed to have occurred between 5pm on Sunday, July 6 and 8am on Monday, July 7.
Police have identified a person of interest but no arrest has been made.
