Newly minted Warragul coach and Australian Football Hall of Fame member Gary Ayres is "excited" to be making a return to his childhood club.
The town has been abuzz since it was revealed last Monday the Hawthorn legend will be taking the reins at the Gulls for the next two seasons, with plenty of people showing their excitement on social media.
Ayres famously got his start at the Gulls, living on his family farm in Darnum while his father was stationed as a policeman at Drouin and later Warragul.
