Pupils from Poowong Primary School were joined by Australian 800 metres champion Kelly Hetherington recently as part of the school’s Active April program.

Hetherington took on the grade 6 pupils in a relay and ran several training sessions.

She told the students she was inspired during her own primary school years by a visit from Olympic champion Cathy Freeman.
