Unit fire under investigation

A fire caused significant damage to a Warragul unit on Sunday afternoon.
An occupant, who tried to extinguish the fire in the Jamieson St unit, was taken to West Gippsland Hospital for observation.
Police said the occupant became aware of a fire in a bedroom between 3pm and 3.30pm.
After unsuccessful attempts to extinguish the fire, the residents fled to a neighbouring property for assistance.
Police said three CFA units attended to extinguish the fire. Paramedics and police, who diverted traffic from the street, were also in attendance.
The fire was contained to one unit and its cause is still under investigation.
