Thorpdale's Glen Westbury recently realised he and his friends weren't catching up as much as they used to — and often, the only time they saw each other was at a funeral.
Glen, with his father Alan and brother Matt, own and operate a long running potato farm in Thorpdale. Lately, he has noticed many of his peers in the area are struggling and feeling more isolated than ever.
In an effort to get local farmers and others in the community to reconnect, he started a new community group called Talk and Tongs — a fortnightly event where people can gather by the fire to "let down their hair, enjoy a barbie or a beer, and have a chat."
