Tandoori chicken pie wins gold medal
1 min read

The great Aussie pie has developed into many gourmet flavours and for Yarragon Country Style Bakers, it was a tandoori chicken pie that had the golden taste this year.

Judges awarded a gold medal for the bakery’s tandoori chicken flavour when it was entered in the Great Aussie Pie Competition.

Bakeries from all around Australia compete for the honour of a perfect pie – mastering the crispy pastry and flavoursome fillings.

Yarragon also took out bronze medals for its mince pie in the mince section and smokey beef and chimichurri in the red meat section.

In the past, Yarragon won a gold medal for its chicken, pumpkin and fetta pie – which is a popular favourite amongst customers.

Baker Adam Wurn enjoys experimenting with different flavours to come up with a recipe that appeals to customers.

The plain meat pie, mushroom and curried scallop pies also are much sought after lunchtime treats.

Ben Brady has owned the Yarragon bakery for 15 years and also opened a Traralgon store five years ago.
