Suspended driver crashes car

A suspended driver lost control and crashed his vehicle in Princes Way, Warragul on Sunday morning.
Police interviewed a 36-year-old Warragul man following the crash between Lardners Trk and Crole Drv at 1.13am.
It is alleged the man, who has a suspended driver's licence and believed to be drug affected, was driving a 1992 Holden Commodore sedan when he attempted a dangerous overtake. Approached by a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction, the driver lost control and crashed into an embankment.
Despite the vehicle sustaining significant damage, it is alleged he attempted to drive away before the vehicle broke down nearby.
The man was interviewed at the scene before self-presenting to West Gippsland Hospital. He is expected to be charged on summons.
