With this year's TAC Road Safety Round shining a spotlight on speeding, local police are urging motorists to stick to speed limits, drive to conditions and avoid distractions.
Warragul police acting senior sergeant Kristin Hodges said it was pleasing to see local sporting clubs supporting the road safety campaign and urged all players to "keep an eye on your mates."
"We've got big open country roads with high speeds," she said. "Speed and distraction are leading causes of crashes on our roads."
"It's dark, it's wet. It really is just about sticking to the speed limit, driving to the conditions and avoiding distraction."
