Road forum in Drouin

Victoria Police, stakeholders and the community will come together to focus on reducing road trauma, beginning with a forum in Drouin tomorrow night.
The Baw Baw Road Safety Forum will be held at the Drouin Community Hub from 7pm to 9pm.
Eastern Region division five road policing advisor senior sergeant Rod Gillow encouraged community members to attend and play a vital role by listening to police, asking questions and ultimately sharing ideas.
"Victoria Police can't do it all," he said. "We can enforce the law and road rules, but we need people to be educated. We need people to change their driving behaviour."
Topics explored at the forum will include: road policing, local road trauma statistics, top causes of serious collisions, and safe systems approach. There already have been 127 lives lost on Victorian roads this year, including four in the Baw Baw region.
To register or submit questions for the road safety forum in Drouin, email ED5-HWP-MGR@police.vic.gov.au or visit eventbrite.com.au and search for "Baw Baw Road Safety Forum".
A forum also will be held at Wonthaggi Town Hall, with a focus on the Bass Coast region, on Thursday from 1pm to 3pm.
