The Neerim South playground is due for an upgrade and the community is being asked to select their favourite design.
Baw Baw Shire has released two draft concept designs for the Craig Watts Park playground, each offering exciting equipment options.
Design one offers an embankment slide, flying fox, cliffrider, junior play areas and climbing equipment.
Design two features a custom play tower, climbing net, senior and junior slides, flying fox, accessible spinner and activity cubby.
Council said the current playground on Main Neerim Rd adjoining the skate park had reached the end of its lifecycle. After more than 20 years of service, it will be upgraded through council's annual playground renewal program.
Deputy mayor Tricia Jones encouraged the community to get involved and share their thoughts on delivering a refreshed and engaging space for families, children and visitors in Neerim South."This playground has been a central part of the Neerim South community for generations," Cr Jones said. "We want to make sure the future playground reflects what local families and children really want and need."
"Your input will help us create a space that's not only fun and safe, but also loved for many years to come," she added.
As part of the project's early engagement phase, council officers visited Neerim South Primary School in term one to gather ideas from 60 local students. Their feedback was incorporated into the two draft concept designs, which are now available for broader community input.
Residents of all ages are being asked to decide their preferred design and types of equipment they would like to see included in the final design.
