Rain recorded in the district last month exceeded the average but mostly came in a couple of bursts.
Thirty-eight millimetres recorded at Warragul and 40.6 millimetres at Nilma North on the last two days of March represented almost half of the month's total.
Warragul's March rain took the total for the first three months of the year to 135mm while Nilma North's 88.6mm brought the yearly total to 143.2mm, both falling short of the average for the period by just over 40mm.
The bureau is expecting lower than average rain to continue for southern and eastern regions of Victoria over the next three months.
