A new accessible carpark and footpath upgrade was completed at Garfield just in time for Christmas.
Located in Ritchie St, the improvements will provide better access for people with a disability.
The works included footpath, kerb and channel construction, signage and line marking and installation of tactile ground surface indicators.
Cardinia Shire's access and inclusion committee, that includes local people living with a disability, their carers and representatives of disability groups, endorsed the project.
The location was selected to provide a safe, continuous path of travel to the existing ramp and public toilets.
"Our disability access improvements are vital to the future development of Cardinia Shire, and I'm pleased to see the Ritchie St upgrade being delivered for the Garfield community," mayor Tammy Radford said.
