Man charged with 50 offences

A 21-year-old man charged with 50 offences was remanded in custody to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates yesterday.
Police said the man, of no fixed address, was arrested in Alfred St, Warragul on Sunday morning.
It is alleged he was discovered in a stolen Toyota Hilux.
Police arrested and charged the man with 50 offences including theft of a motor vehicle, dealing with proceeds of crime, possession of a drug of dependence, indictable offence whilst on bail, breeching conditions of bail and driving offences.
Responding to a resident's complaint, police said they located the man asleep in a Toyota Hilux at 9.20am.
The vehicle, valued at $10,000, had been reported stolen from Callignee earlier that day.
Police allege a large quantity of items was located in the vehicle, including numerous sets of number plates, vehicle and truck accessories, power tools, laptops, alcohol and five large vehicle lightbars.
A trailer with two motorbikes and an e-scooter also were located.
Police said they were investigating how the man came into possession of the items and if they were linked to other crimes.
