Police have thanked community members for their assistance following a pursuit through West Gippsland this morning.
A man was arrested in Warragul for alleged erratic driving, evading multiple intercept attempts and colliding with a bus.
Police said they received numerous calls about a silver hatchback with no number plates driving erratically in the Moe, Trafalgar and Drouin areas from about 8.30am.
The Holden Astra was observed in Bennett St, Moe before travelling along the Princes Hwy towards Trafalgar.
Police said officers attempted to intercept the vehicle in Trafalgar and Warragul but allege it took off at high speed. The police air wing continued to track the vehicle before it collided with a bus in Albert St in Warragul. There were no injuries.
The vehicle was dumped in a nearby park and the driver fled. Officers later located and arrested a 38-year-old Morwell man in the backyard of an Albert St residence.
Police said it was expected he would be interviewed.
They thanked community members for their assistance.
