Warragul and District Historical Society stalwarts Malcolm and Josephine Dickson's "exceptional dedication" was recognised on Saturday, with each being awarded History Achievement Awards from the Gippsland Association of Affiliated Historical Societies (GAAHS).
Presented by Gippsland historian Peter Synan at the GAAHS annual general meeting in Sale, the awards were in recognition of Malcom and Josephine's tireless work to preserve and promote Warragul and West Gippsland's rich history.
Longstanding and deeply committed members of the WDHS, the pair's time, knowledge and passion enabled them to document and safeguard stories and artefacts that record the region's history for future generations.
Representatives from 13 affiliated historical societies across Gippsland were in attendance to witness the presentation.
