Firefighters will continue to monitor two fires near Swan Rd, Athlone throughout the week after lightning strikes ignited the area on Friday.
The fires have been contained to an area of around two hectares each, and smoke from smouldering ashes may be still visible from nearby properties.
Both fires were part of a series of six fires that started on Friday, all within a 20km radius. On Friday, about 50 firefighters were working on each fire.
District nine assistant chief fire officer Trevor Roberts said because the fires occurred in a bush area, firefighters would continue to monitor the area throughout the week - particularly as temperatures begin to rise.
Mr Roberts said while the fires were under control, Friday was a "real reminder" that it does not have to be a significant fire danger day for fires to occur. "Don't become complacent, stay vigilant," he said.
He praised firefighters for working to protect a shed that was in the fire zone. However, he confirmed the fires did damage fencing and irrigation facilities.
Temperatures are expected to enter the early 30s this week.
