"Nothing changes" with Fonterra sale

Fonterra dairy co-operative is set to sell its global businesses to French giant Lactalis in a $3.4 billion deal. But, Australian dairy farmers have been assured nothing will change and existing contracts will be honoured.
In July, the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) flagged it would not oppose the acquisition. The final hurdle for the sale is now approval from Fonterra's farmer shareholders in New Zealand.
A farmer shareholder vote will occur in late October or early November. Australian farmers will not be included in the vote.
