A report on voter turnout, ballot pack postage and complaints relating to the 2024 Local Goverment elections has been issued for Baw Baw Shire.
The election report, prepared by the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC), was released as part of a governance report at the recent council meeting.
It showed residents aged 60 years and over had the highest participation rate, 815 votes were set aside due to missing signatures and six written complaints were received during the October election period.
Most complaints related to election participation and conduct, rather than election administration, the report stated. They "often alleged inappropriate or illegal action by a person or group association with the election."
