Vote for Noojee tourism award

Noojee is a finalist in a prestigious state tourism award and needs West Gippslanders to lodge their vote to help take out the top accolade.
Noojee has been named a finalist in the "tiny tourism town" category of this year's Victorian Top Tourism Town Awards.
For towns with populations under 1500 people, it joins Gippsland towns Marlo and Kilcunda on the finalist's list.
The annual Victorian Tourism Industry Council (VTIC) awards celebrate towns that provide outstanding visitor experiences, demonstrate strong community spirit and champion their local tourism offerings through compelling storytelling.
Also in the running is Lakes Entrance in the top tourism town category (population more than 5000), and Paynesville in the small tourism town (population between 1500 and 5000).
Noojee took out bronze in the 2022 awards and was a finalist in 2023.
The awards page states while Noojee was once a thriving timber town, today it is well-known as a tranquil place to unwind, immerse yourself in nature and explore the town's rich history. "Taking its name from the Aboriginal word for 'resting place', the historic town of Noojee offers just that."
Destination Gippsland chief executive officer Terry Robinson said the nominations reflected the depth and resilience of the region's tourism sector.
"To have five Gippsland towns recognised as finalists is a testament to the passion, innovation and pride of our communities. Each of these destinations offers something truly special — whether it's natural beauty, a rich sense of place or warm country hospitality," Mr Robinson said.
"This recognition reinforces what locals and visitors already know — that Gippsland is one of Victoria's most compelling tourism regions."
Voting closes at 5pm on Friday, June 27. To show your support and vote for Noojee, go to www.vtic.com.au/toptourismtown/2025finalists/
