Duo arrested after chase in Longwarry

Police arrested two men in two stolen cars after a foot chase in Longwarry on Wednesday.
Officers observed a blue 2017 Subaru WRX parked in Sand Rd about 8.40am and checks revealed it was allegedly a stolen vehicle.
After seeing police, a man got out of the Subaru and began running towards a nearby service station. Officers pursued him on foot and via vehicle to outside the store.
The man got into the passenger side of a second allegedly stolen Subaru which attempted to drive off from police.
Police said the offenders struggled to get the vehicle into gear and, as the vehicle slowly rolled, police removed one man from the driver's seat and arrested him.
The man in the passenger seat got out of the Subaru and attempted to flee, before he was arrested by police.
Stolen property, drugs and cloned plates were allegedly located during a search of both vehicles.
The men, a 34-year-old from Tynong North and 30-year-old from Pakenham were interviewed by police.
They were both remanded to appear at Latrobe Valley Magistrates' Court on Thursday, June 19.
