Op shop supports all abilities sport

Drouin Anglican Church Opportunity Shop recently made a donation to Warragul and District Specialist School to support students with disabilities as they prepared to take part in an all-abilities netball competition.
The donation helped cover the cost of court hire, which was essential to the event's success and aimed at ensuring every student could participate in the event. The competition, designed to celebrate inclusivity and teamwork, provided a supportive and empowering sporting experience for students with disabilities and additional needs coming together to enjoy the sport.
An Opportunity Shop spokesperson said it was a chance to strengthen community ties and ensure everyone had the opportunity to take part in activities that bring joy and connection.
WDSS sport co-ordinator Allison Duggan was grateful for the donation, emphasising the importance of giving students with disabilities equal opportunities in sport.
The all-abilities netball competition was held on May 30 at Latrobe Leisure Centre, bringing together participants from across the region.
Non-profit organisations can make requests for donations from the Opportunity Shop at the end of each financial quarter, forwarding requests in writing to the Drouin Anglican Church, c/- PO Box 392, Drouin, 3818 or email office@anglicanparishdrouin.org.au
