Community members are being urged to share their healthcare experiences ahead of West Gippsland Healthcare Group's merger into the new Local Health Service Networks (LHSN).
The networks, effective across Victoria from July 1, aim to support co-ordinated care and the ability for every person to access the right care, in the right place, at the right time, wherever they live.
Serving a population of 248,000, the Gippsland LHSN includes WGHG, Latrobe Regional Hospital, South Gippsland Hospital, Bairnsdale Regional Health Service, Central Gippsland Health Service (Sale), Omeo District Health, Orbost Regional Health and Yarram and District Health Service.
To help inform how the hospital works with other hospitals to deliver care as a network, WGHG wants to hear how the local community has experienced care within the past three years.
The timeframe will help ensure the information provided to the network addresses current opportunities and needs.
People can share their experiences via an Engage Victoria Survey, open until June 8.
WGHG interim chief executive officer Shannon Wight encouraged local residents to complete the survey and contribute to the future of healthcare in the region.
"This feedback is valuable and will help inform the way we operate and deliver health care as a key health service within this new network," Ms Wight said.
"To work together effectively, we need the understanding of what is important to the community we care for. I encourage everyone to share their experiences."
Survey responses are anonymous and confidential. The survey takes about 10 minutes to complete and will be available in English and 10 other languages.
