Sandy from Buln Buln rescue shelter recently visited Drouin Girl Guides to explain how she cares for baby animals until their release back into the wild.
She brought along rescue packs for the girls to keep in cars for emergencies, and explained how to rescue a baby kangaroo from a pouch.
Using their own sewing machines or with assistance from leaders or parents, Drouin Girl Guides members made 30 pouches to present to Sandy during the visit.
The unit had previously made 60 pouches for Snug Wildlife Shelter in Omeo.
The Drouin Girl Guides have vowed to continue to support these great wildlife shelter causes in future.
