Community members can walk the journey to Australia Zoo to raise funds for a Darnum mum with terminal cancer to tick off a bucket list family holiday.
Nilma Darnum Football Netball Club will host the "Walk to Australia Zoo for Emma" fundraiser on Sunday from 10am. It will see participants walk laps of the oval to achieve the symbolic 1960km journey to the Queensland zoo.
The club described Emma Trenerry as a local mum of three beautiful kids and with an amazing partner who is "fighting every day".
Her mum Diane Matthews praised the club, primary school and friends who were supporting the fundraiser to help Emma, who had to give up studies to become a veterinary nurse, to achieve her dream.
