June 30 marked the end of another financial year and for a leading local businessman of more than 30 years, it also was time to sign off the books for the last time.
Peter Nicholson has been a fixture of the retail scene in Drouin initially, but since the mid 1990s at Warragul, where he operated several businesses until he handed over the reins of his final business at the end of last month.
The changeover of ownership of Inland Surf in Warragul to Xander Vansittart followed a pattern of planned succession that Mr Nicholson successfully applied previously when he sold his Intersport business to Brent Mounsey.

Both businesses are now owned by people that had worked for Mr Nichols
