West Gippsland Healthcare Group celebrated its remarkable volunteers on May 23 with its annual Volunteers' Week luncheon at Warragul Country Club.
Almost 70 volunteers attended, with two receiving recognition of service awards for their longstanding and tireless support.
Elaine Carmody, who was unable to attend the lunch, began volunteering at Andrews House in September 2014, assisting with pastoral care and mass. Andrews House staff and residents will present her certificate at a later date.
Bev Dowie also received a recognition of service award for her 30 years of volunteering at Andrews House and Rawson Community Health.
WGHG board chair Jo-Anne Moorfoot said the annual luncheon was a small token of appreciation for the vital contribution volunteer made.
"They provide support across the hospital, aged care, community services, consumer programs and fundraising. They are concierges in reception, lifestyle support in aged care and they are the consumer voices that give our committees a different perspective. We can't thank them enough," she said.
WGHG is seeking more volunteers to join programs across the organisation. For more information visit the volunteering section of the West Gippsland Healthcare Group website or contact the volunteer's co-ordinator Sarah Kelly (5622 6422).
