Residents with limited mobility are set to benefit from a 12-month carparking trial at Warragul Leisure Centre.
Baw Baw Shire will create three spaces for centre patrons experiencing limited mobility due to age, injury or health conditions.
The spaces, featuring teal stencil markings, will utilise existing parallel parking closest to the main entrance. They will be reserved for people wanting to attend the centre to support their fitness, wellbeing and injury and will be in addition to the eight existing disability carparks.
The new spaces will have a two-hour limit on weekdays between 8am and 5pm.
Cr Suzanne Allen said patrons with limited mobility had experienced some difficulty obtaining parking close to the centre entrance.
"These parking spaces aim to make the Warragul Leisure Centre more inclusive and accessible for all users," Cr Allen said.
The centre already has four disability parking spaces at the front entrance, and four disability spaces adjacent to the stadium.
"This is a trial and community feedback will help determine whether these spaces should be a permanent fixture moving forward," Cr Allen said. "I encourage all visitors to the centre to have their say as part of our community engagement."
