A bricklayers' elevator was reported stolen from a Yarragon construction site early last week.
Police said the theft occurred between 3pm on Monday and 6.45am on Tuesday.
Chain temporary fencing was cut to gain access to the Princes Hwy site as well as chains securing the brick and block elevator onto scaffolding.
Police said a ute or trailer would have been required to move the elevator valued at about $10,000.
