Baw Baw Shire mayor Danny Goss and deputy mayor Tricia Jones recently met with year 10 students from Neerim District Secondary College to talk about the functions of council and receive feedback from students about what it could deliver for young people in the shire.
The meeting capped off an eight-week program the students took part in which was designed to foster self awareness and build relationships with peers, teachers and the community as a whole.
The program - CoRE (Connected, Resilient, Engaged) is run by Blue Light Victoria.
